Learn about your favorite fluttering insects!
Jason Love of Highlands Biological Station will join us to share his knowledge on the butterflies and moths of WNC. During this 1 hour lecture, participants will learn all about the Lepidopteran species that live in our mountains, including where to find them and how to identify them.
This lecture is Part 1 of a 2-part event. Part 2 is a field trip to Tessentee Bottomland Preserve on Saturday, April 20th where we’ll catch butterflies with aerial nets and use close-focus binoculars to admire them, then come back after dark to marvel at moths, the night owls of the Lepidoptera order!
This event is scheduled for 6:00pm-7:00pm on Friday, April 19th at WCU in Cullowhee. Exact location (building and room number) of the lecture will be sent to participants in the week leading up to the event. Email Skye with any questions. Fill out the form below to register.
