A webinar paired with an optional field trip
This two-part workshop will teach attendees how to identify and manage common invasive plants found in Western North Carolina. The webinar portion will cover an introduction to invasive species, basic plant identification, and profiles of specific invasive plant species, then will end with a Q&A session.
The field trip portion will consist of a guided walk at Tessentee Bottomland Preserve in Franklin, where participants will be able to see, smell, and touch the species covered in the webinar, as well as have the opportunity to practice their ID skills. We will also demonstrate a few hands-on management techniques. Attending the field trip is not required to register for the webinar, but attending both sessions will provide a more thorough learning experience.
This free, educational webinar will take place on Wednesday, July 9th from 6:00pm-7:30pm, and the field trip portion is scheduled for 9:00am-11:00am on Saturday, July 12th at Tessentee Bottomland Preserve in Franklin. Register for the webinar by filling out the form below. A staff member will email a link to registered participants in the days leading up to the event.
