When: October 19, 2023 @ 5:00 pm
FIND A SENSE OF PLACE WITH MAINSPRING AND THE MACON COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY.
Once a month, we will take a casual 1 mile stroll through the trails behind the library, noticing how the forest, meadow, and river changes with the seasons. Each month we will pick an aspect of nature to explore during our walk, and spend a brief moment learning about the evening’s theme before heading out on the trails to discover the world around us. During previous walks we have learned about tree identification, edible plants, and lichens!
This event is free and open to the public, and registration is not required to attend. We will meet in the Meeting Room at the Macon County Public Library (149 Siler Farm Rd, Franklin, NC 28734) just before 5:00PM , where participants will be introduced to the day’s theme through a brief lesson. The walk will take about an hour and a half and is on a variety of trails, from narrow and sloped to wide and flat.
For questions, please email Skye. This event is weather-dependent.
