Join us in celebrating our new footbridge!
Mainspring’s 57-acre Welch Farm property, acquired in April 2011, contains historic farmland dating back to the mid-1800s plantation of John and Betty Welch. Today Mainspring manages the property for its beauty, recreation value, water quality and aquatic habitat, wildlife habitat, productive farmland, and rich cultural heritage. Our staff, board, and amazing volunteers have been working hard for months to install a beautiful new footbridge that grants easier access to the west side of the property. Participants are welcome to stay for our Tree ID Walk from 5:30pm-7:00pm.
Come on out to Welch Farm on Friday, June 12th from 4:30pm-5:00pm to honor the hard work that went into this bridge, and the beauty of this property. This event is free and open to the public, but is weather dependent. Fill out the form below to RSVP. Guests are invited to help us christen the new bridge during our Tree ID Walk after the ribbon cutting from 5:30pm-7:00pm.
We will meet in the Welch Farm parking lot in Andrews, off the Nantahala Scenic Byway (Rt 74/129/19), just before 4:30pm. The entrance to the parking lot is a little less than 1/2 mile east of the intersection with Marble Plant Rd, on the eastbound side of the highway. See the map below for exact location.
This event is weather dependent. Please leave pets at home. Email Skye with any questions.
