When: October 25, 2025 @ 10:00 am
The WNC ASL Social Club invites Deaf, CODA, interpreter, and hearing folks of all skill levels to this Silent Nature Walk at Tessentee Bottomland Preserve. The club is run by Savita Adams, a Deaf ASL teacher who offers private tutoring and classes through Southwestern Community College, and her hearing student Skye Cahoon. Regular meetings are held once a month, switching between the Macon County Public Library and Jackson County Public Library. Other opportunities- such as silent dinners, coffee hours, or hikes- are added when possible.
This meeting will occur from 10am-1pm on Saturday, October 25th. This meeting is weather dependent.
Interested parties are encouraged to join the WNC ASL Social Club Facebook group or email list.
Note that this is not a Mainspring event, and WNC ASL Social Club meetings are spaces to socialize in ASL rather than formal structured classes. Meetings are free. Beginners are welcome and learning resources are provided to help guide your learning. Email Skye at [email protected] with any questions.
