Connect to your body and the natural world through this outdoor yoga practice

Join yoga instructor Courtney Jarrell for this immersive hike at Onion Mountain Preserve. We will begin by grounding into the space and our bodies with a few gentle stretches at the trailhead before hiking a little over a mile to the summit. On the journey up, we will take breaks to stretch and tune in to the surrounding forest, learning the names and stories of a few of the plants, animals, and other critters we meet along the way. Once we reach the top, we will enjoy an easy yoga class that will connect us to our bodies, breath, and surroundings. Participants are invited to continue independently enjoying the peaceful area after the class ends, or join the guides for a leisurely stroll back down to the trailhead.

We will meet at the North Trailhead of Onion Mountain Preserve just before 10:00am on Saturday, May 16th. See the map below for exact location. Staff will be on-site starting at 9:30am to direct parking. Please bring a mat (if you have one, we will have a few extras available), sturdy hiking shoes, plenty of water, snacks, and anything else you need to be comfortable outside for the duration of this event. This hike is rated as moderate to difficult; some sections are quite steep, but the natural surface trail is wide and even. This event should take about two and half hours, and we plan to be back at the trailhead by 12:30pm.

This event is weather-dependent. Please leave pets at home. Email Skye at [email protected] with any questions. This opportunity is donation-based, with a suggested donation of $10-$20. Please bring a cash or check to the event to make a donation. Scroll to the bottom of this page to register.
