Martha Ross

March 4, 2024

Martha joined Mainspring’s Stewardship team at the beginning of 2024. As a Stewardship Associate, she spends most of her time outside monitoring conservation easements, maintaining Mainspring’s trails, and leading stewardship volunteer projects.
Martha grew up in Atlanta but developed her passion for the natural world in the north Georgia mountains, where she spent plenty of time camping and exploring with friends. After earning her B.S. in Biology and Environmental Science from William and Mary in 2023, she made her way up the east coast to Downeast, Maine where she worked on trail building projects, monitored conservation easements, facilitated educational programming, and befriended a few wild porcupines. While the ocean sunsets were beautiful, she missed the mountains and was drawn to western North Carolina to continue her stewardship journey.
In her spare time, you can find Martha reading, backpacking, training for her next half marathon, or taking a nap in her hammock!
