When: June 5, 2026 @ 10:00 am

Purchased in 2024, Cover Falls is Mainspring’s newest public preserve.

The half-mile Lillian Brittain Cover Trail is a moderate-to-difficult hike that leads to a stunning 30-foot spray-cliff waterfall on Britton Creek, a beautiful trout stream and tributary of the Valley River. It is the first phase of an eventual 1.3-mile loop trail.
The 57-acre preserve connects to more than 30,000 acres of contiguous U.S. Forest Service land in the Snowbird Mountains. Located just one mile outside the Town of Andrews, the property was once slated for residential development but will be open for public exploration and recreation.
Join us on National Land Trust Day- Friday, June 5th- to celebrate this new place to relax, explore, and connect with nature. Due to limited space, on-site parking will not be available. Participants will be shuttled from the Cherokee County Visitor Center (50 Cover Ave., Andrews, NC 28901.) Please arrive to the visitor’s center between 9:15-9:45 to catch a shuttle. The event will begin at 10:00am.
