FIND FRIENDSHIP AND FULFILLMENT WHILE HELPING THE EARTH

Join us for some golden hour stewardship on your Wednesday evening and help us tidy up Welch Farm Preserve! During this quick and easy workday, we’ll be picking up litter at the parking area and along the trails. This unique preserve is a cattle-pasture-turned-riverwalk, and is now home to a delightful abundance of native plants that support pollinators, mitigate flooding, and offer colorful blooms all throughout the year. The bird diversity of Welch Farm is astounding, and the oxbow wetlands on the property- places where the river loops back on itself- provide important habitat for aquatic species like otters and wood ducks. Unfortunately, due to its location right off the highway, this preserve tends to collect litter faster than our other properties, so we need your help to keep it clean!
Volunteers can choose how far they walk during this opportunity; stay near the car, or explore up to a mile along flat, mowed-grass trails. All tools will be provided, but volunteers are encouraged to wear long pants and closed-toed shoes, and bring plenty of water. We will work from 4:00pm-5:00pm on Wednesday, November 18th. See the map below for exact meeting location.

Want to help protect the special places we know and love, but aren’t sure you’re up for digging in the dirt? We have indoor, low-exertion volunteer opportunities too! Check them out here.
